PONCA CITY — Pioneer Technology Center recognized their board members at the January PTC Board of Education as part of School Board Recognition Month.

Members were given etched tumblers customized by students in the Visual Communications Program as a recognition of their service.

Serving as a link between the community and tech center, school board members are elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for the schools they serve. The board meets monthly on the second Tuesday.

“Our school board members are volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make crucial decisions for our district,” said  Traci Thorpe, Superintendent/CEO of Pioneer Tech. “Their goal is continuously focused on the future success of the students and industry in our district. Their support for PTC and our district helps today’s students prepare to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow.”

PTC Board members are JD Soulek, Blackwell; Gay Norris, Ponca City; Orva Rothgeb, Tonkawa; Debbie Leaming, Newkirk; and Laurence Beliel, Ponca City.
