The 34-year-old Olympian, who’s currently ranked in the top 50 in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals, took to social media to explain that he used an offensive Italian term during a three-set loss to Russian player Daniil Medvedev because of extremely hot conditions that affected his head, which led him to use “a really stupid expression toward myself.”
